Religious Literature

Most people in Zambia can speak and read English; but, unfortunately, the availability of religious books and materials is almost nil. What is most needed are simple reference books (e.g. Bible dictionary, Bible concordances, commentaries, Bible atlas/maps, church history, books on denominational dogmas, etc). Sunday School Material.

Printing Ministry

Bible Lessons

Less than ten churches in Zambia have a full-time evangelist and very few have any leaders who have had any Bible training. This means that the content of most sermons and bible classes is very poor (often mixed with what they have learned previously from their denominational backgrounds). What we need, therefore, is something like what the Gospel Advocate Quarterly was to many small, rural churches in this country 60-100 years ago. Few of these churches had trained leaders; but, armed with the Gospel Advocate Quarterly, many church leaders were able to teach bible classes and increase the overall bible knowledge of their churches considerably. We need something like this in Zambia – printing bible lessons that church leaders can use to help them teach bible in our churches throughout Zambia.

Richard Waggoner has agreed to take on the challenge of this ministry and will serve as the editor and coordinator of this ministry. The idea is to publish simple bible lessons that can be cheaply photocopied and distributed through a network of church leaders strategically located throughout the country. The goal is to produce a bible lesson for each Sunday of the year so that churches will have a consistent, balanced diet of bible teaching and something that will broaden and deepen the scope of their knowledge of God’s word (facilitating growth and maturity in the churches).

Evangelistic Materials

There is also the need to produce materials to be used in evangelism. Richard Waggoner is currently working to develop a series of bible lessons that church leaders can use in doing evangelism and church planting. These lessons will have a picture on one side (that the hearer can look at and enhance their future memory of the lesson) and the corresponding bible lesson on the other side (which the evangelist can reference during the presentation). These lessons will be published in English, French, Bemba, Kaonde, Nyanja, Tonga, and other tribal languages of Central Africa).

In order to develop this ministry, it is going to require that we purchase some printing equipment and hire a full-time printer to publish and deliver these bible lessons (either by the mail or by channels of hand-delivery). School Library

The process of building a good library at Mapepe Bible College is an expensive one. We would like to build a library that could be of service to all the church leaders throughout Zambia who would like to use our library for study and research. Of course, our students need a good library to use for their class assignments. We especially need to stock the library with quality reference books and commentaries. If you have any books that you would like to donate to the library, please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. us (or by letter). Even better would be a donation so that we could buy the books we absolutely need for the church in Zambia. If you would like to donate a book in memory or in honor of someone, we will be happy to place the appropriate acknowledgement in the front of the book.

To donate any of the materials above, please send us an This email address is being protected from spambots. If you would like to make a donation to buy any of these items, then please send your check to “Zambia Missions” at the following address: Zambia Missions, 1910 Sycamore View Rd, Memphis, TN 38134 (include a note stating exactly what your donation is being given for).
